PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine which can make compatible both the flow-down of oil in an upper region of a cylinder head and the flow-out of a blowby gas in a crank case without changing a layout even if the internal combustion engine is arranged in a vehicle in such a form that a plurality of cylinders are aligned in a vehicle fore-and-aft direction, and also even if the internal combustion engine is arranged in the vehicle in such a form that a plurality of the cylinders are aligned in a vehicle width direction.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises two exhaust-side penetration holes 611, 612 and two intake-side penetration holes 621, 622 which are opened at an upper face 131 of a cylinder head 13. A wall part 65 which surrounds the opening of the first exhaust-side penetration hole 611 located near a chain 21 out of the exhaust-side penetration holes 611, 612 is arranged at the upper face 131.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
