PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent residual ink, produced during wiping/cleaning operation, from standing at the end of the ejection opening face of a recording means by providing a cleaning means for wiping off foreign matters adhering to the ejection opening face, and means for removing ink collected at the end part of the ejection opening face when ink is wiped off. SOLUTION: A tub unit 2 for recovering the ink ejection performance of each recording head 1 is located on the underside of the recording head 1 and an resilient cap 3 covering the plane including the ejection opening of each recording head 1 is contained in the center of the recovery tub unit 2 along with an absorber 4 for absorbing ink ejected idly. A wiper member 5 for wiping off foreign matters adhering to the ejection opening plane of the recording head 1 is fixed upright to the side edge part of the recovery tub unit 2 and means 6 for removing ink collected by means of the wiper member 5 is provided on the upper surface part of a recovery plate. |
