PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band saw on which a tip is attached in right posture to the belt and of which sawing trail width is made minimum. SOLUTION: The fitting parts 43 consisting of U letter shape notch opened upward along the one side of the edge part of a belt 41 are formed at certain intervals. A segment tip 21 is formed to make a rectangular parallelepiped and grooves 35, 37 extending from the upper surface 31 to the lower surface in the center of the width direction are formed on the front end plane 27 and the rear end plane 29. The grooves 35, 37 have width corresponding to the thickness of the belt 41. These grooves 35, 37 are attached on the front side upright part and the back side upright part of the fitting part 43 fitting in the state that the wall surface of both sides hold the both sides of the belt 41.
