PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery frame and an embroidery sewing machine with which an object to be sewn can be easily set/removed and further, the layout of an embroidery pattern is facilitated. SOLUTION: This embroidery sewing machine has an embroidery frame to be relatively driven in X-Y direction in respect to a sewing machine needle and sews a prescribed embroidery pattern to the object to be sewn set on the embroidery frame. First reference points P1 and P3 to be the reference of the sewing position of the embroidery pattern are set to the embroidery pattern and this machine is provided with a sewing machine needle instructing a prescribed mark position within the embroidery frame and a control means for performing sewing control so as to overlap the first reference points 11 and P3 of the embroidery pattern on the mark position at the time of sewing by arranging the embroidery frame so that the first reference points P1 and P3 can come to the mark position at settable time capable of setting the object to be sewn onto the embroidery frame.
