PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for aligning a guide car, or the like, for coke ovens, capable of solving such a problem that alignments on all the operated ovens can not be conducted by a nonattended operational procedure when the coke ovens are deformed, and making it possible to automatically conduct an aligning operation of the guide car, or the like, by the nonattended operational procedure, by carrying out an initial conditioning operation, even when the coke ovens are deformed. SOLUTION: In this method for aligning the guide car, or the like, for the coke ovens, the initial conditioning operation is composed of the following: the center of an oven door opener is aligned with the center of an oven door by traveling the guide car; a target core sensor is subjected to centering at the above position; and the center of a lattice is aligned with an operated oven by moving an internal car so that the moved distance of the internal car is memorized as a measured value L. After the initial conditioning operation, the aligning operation is conducted in the following: the guide car is made to travel and to stop at such a position that the center of the oven door opener consists with the center of the oven door due to a center-detecting operation of the target core sensor; a traveling error (e) is measured at the position where the guide car stops; an arithmetic processing for calculation L-e is conducted based on the measured value L; and the internal car is moved by utilizing a result L' of the arithmetic processing as the stroke or moving the internal car.
