PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke barrier using a lightweight panel, instead of a glass panel, which does not have a risk of being broken into pieces leading to a serious accident when the panel falls, and which can be easily attached to a ceiling. SOLUTION: A rail 4 having a U-shaped cross section with the lower opening and which has a hanging hook 4a on one side surface of the inner wall, is attached to the ceiling 2, and a mounting member 8 with a locking hook 8a is provided at the panel 5 with a fiber-reinforced sheet 7 stretched over a frame body 6. The panel 5 is hung from the rail by locking the locking hook 8a of the panel with the hanging hook 4a of the rail, and the panel 5 is immovably restrained by mounting beats 14 and 15 made of an elastic material between either side face of the inner wall of the rail and the panel 5 to close the gap between the inner wall of the rail and the panel 5.
