<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch and output a dynamic range of an image signal in an image pickup image and to prevent a monitor image from being displayed dark even if the dynamic range is made large. <P>SOLUTION: An image pickup signal Spa is generated in an image pickup part 11. A signal processing part 13 converts a signal level by using the image pickup signal Spa and generates an image signal DVb. A control part 30 controls an operation of the signal processing part 13 by a control signal CTs and switches the dynamic range of the image signal DVb. A level conversion part 21 of a monitor image generation part 20 converts the level of the image signal DVb so that a white peak level becomes a prescribed signal level based on a control signal CTv, and generates an image signal DVc. When monitor image signals DVmt and SVmt are generated based on the image signal DVc, the monitor image is prevented from being displayed dark even if the dynamic range is made large. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
