An object of the present invention is to provide a heater tube having excellent thermal conductivity and durability. A heater tube (1) includes a tubular body part (3) provided on an upper portion with an opening (4). The body part (3) includes upper and lower body parts (30, 31). The upper body part (30) is formed of a material mainly composed of silicon carbide and the height of the upper body part (30) is set to make contact with a liquid level (l) when being immersed in molten metal (M). The lower body part (31) is formed of a material mainly composed of carbon, and is provided with a plurality of concave grooves (32) which are formed on an outer periphery surface thereof in a circumferential direction and extend in an axial direction while being spaced apart from one another at predetermined intervals.
