Provided are a method and device for detecting the used capacity of a refrigerator. The method for detecting the used capacity of a refrigerator comprises: respectively detecting the visible light intensity and the infrared light intensity in the positions where multiple detection assemblies (100) are located by using the multiple detection assemblies (100) disposed in a storage compartment (400) of the refrigerator, wherein the storage compartment (400) is divided into multiple storage spaces, and each detection assembly (100) is disposed in one storage space; determining a detection target storage space from the multiple storage spaces; and calculating the used capacity of the detection target storage space by using the visible light intensity detected by the detection assembly (100) in the detection target storage space and the visible light intensity and the infrared light intensity detected by the detection assembly (100) adjacent, in the vertical direction, to the detection assembly (100) in the detection target storage space. In the solution, the used capacity is detected according to a difference between the projection and the reflection of the visible light and the infrared light as well as the influence of the size of the used capacity on the light intensity, and the detection result is precise, thereby improving the use convenience of a user. |
