PURPOSE: A heating apparatus for a torpedo car is provided to uniformly heat the inner space of a torpedo car and to be used for preheating and drying works. CONSTITUTION: A heating apparatus for a torpedo car comprises front and rear burners. The front and rear burners are located at the outer edge(4a) of a pig iron inlet/outlet(4) and are toward an inner space surrounded by an inner wall surface(3a). Fire holes(7) of the front and rear burners are inclined to the inner wall surface. Flames(A,B,X,Y) of the front and rear burners are transferred from the center part to the front and rear end parts of a torpedo car.
