A method of detecting a static pseudo-wire state and a device utilizing the same. The method comprises: respectively activating, by a first edge equipment and second edge equipment, keepalive timers; transmitting, by the first and second edge equipment, pseudo-wire state detection messages to corresponding terminals, and determining, by the first edge equipment and second edge equipment, according to respective keepalive timer states in received pseudo-wire state detection messages, whether a transmission state of a present static pseudo-wire is valid; wherein the first and second edge equipment are edge equipment at two ends of the static pseudo-wire. The embodiments of the invention provides a technical solution realizing detection of the transmission state of the static pseudo-wire by introducing the pseudo-wire state detection messages into a user data traffic forwarding procedure and serving as a heartbeat signal. |
