PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finishing material capable of preventing a thin ceramic plate from falling off without exposing a metal fitting on a surface to which the thin ceramic plate is attached, and a method to construct a wall or a ceiling using the finishing material.SOLUTION: A finishing material comprises: a face panel including a thin ceramic plate; a wire; and a sheet member that fixes the wire. The sheet member is attached to a rear face of the face panel so as to cover a central part of the wire. Both ends of the wire extend from the rear face of the finishing material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
