PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide insulative coated planular powder 2 for a magnetic member such as an electromagnetic wave absorber which is effective in blocking or absorbing electromagnetic waves in a frequency region of 1 MHz to 50 GHz.SOLUTION: Insulative coated planular powder 2 of the present invention comprises: metal powder 4 processed into planular forms; and an insulative coating film 6 deposited to the surface of the resultant metal powder 4. The metal powder 4 has an aspect ratio of 10-300. The coating film 6 includes polymerization products of titanium alkoxides and silicon alkoxides. In the powder 2, the ratio of the mass of titanium to the mass of silicon included in the coating film 6 is preferably between 2 and 6 inclusive. In the powder 2, titanium alkoxides are preferably titanium alkoxide oligomers. In the powder 2, the coverage of the coating film 6 on the metal powder 4 is preferably 20% or more. |
