摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing titanium oxide fine particle containing brookite type crystal useful as a catalyst, catalyst carrier, photocatalyst, cosmetic material, optical material and photoelectric transfer material. SOLUTION: This method for producing titanium oxide fine particle containing brookite type crystal comprises a process (a) for hydrolyzing a titanium compound to prepare an orthotitanic acid sol or gel, a process (b) for adding hydrogen peroxide to carry out deflocculation, subjecting cation and/or anion except titanium to deionization treatment to prepare a solution of peroxotitanic acid having <=1,000 ppm ion concentration, a process (c) for adding an organic base and/or ammonia to the peroxotitanic acid and subjecting the peroxotitanic acid to hydrothermal treatment at 120-350 deg.C while maintaining the solution at pH 8-14.
