PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for imaging blood flow and contrast media. SOLUTION: When flow imaging is effected using coded excitation and wall filter process, a series of coded broad-band pulses (about a fundamental frequency) is transmitted a number of times to a specific transmission focal position. Each coded series constitutes one firing. During reception, received signals acquired as to each firing are supplied to a finite impulse response filter 48 compressing the received pulses and performing band-pass filter process, and, e.g. compressed pulses about the fundamental frequency, are separated. Next, the signals compressed and separated are subjected to high-pass filter process over plural firings by use of a wall filter. Using the signals subjected to wall filter process, blood flow and contrast media are imaged.
