PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain in a high yield a high performance ink jet head capable of eliminating cutting of a power supplying conductor and leaving of a remnant of a solid layer and of having many high resolution nozzles with high reliability. SOLUTION: A solid layer surface detecting pattern 11 made of a solid layer 2 is provided on a substrate 1 in order to detect a position of a surface of the solid layer 2 when manufacturing an ink jet head. Next, when cutting a wall member, cutting from the surface of the solid layer 2 to a predetermined position by moving a cutter blade 8 is executed in accordance with the solid layer surface detecting pattern 11.
