PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the pH of alkaline or acidic water in a form easy to observe. SOLUTION: An electrolytic water making apparatus is equipped with an ionization tank 3 having an anode 1 and a cathode 2 built therein, a power supply 4 for applying DC across the anode 1 and the cathode 2 and a pH display device 6 detecting the pH of water passed through the ionization tank 3 to be discharged to display the same. The pH display device 6 is equipped with a color display panel 14 displaying pH by a color and displays the pH of discharged water on the color display panel 14.
