PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize automation and energy saving of inspection work of a secondary battery, and facilitate device installation in an emergency illumination system. SOLUTION: A guide light (lighting system) 1 is provided with a lamp 12 for guide display, a lighting circuit part 13 for lighting it, a charging circuit 14a for charging the secondary battery 14 used as a power source by power from a power line 3 in power interruption, a timer circuit part (internal timer) 16 for measuring an inspection time, an inspection circuit part 15 for carrying out a lighting operation by the secondary battery 14 at every fixed inspection time and for determining whether or not a current and a voltage are above reference values, a memory part 17 for memorizing own address and inspection results, and a communication part 11 for transmission and reception to/from a remote controller. The illumination device carries out a predetermined inspection based on the internal timer, memorizes the inspection results thereof, and transmits it to the remote controller by a request from an inspector.
