PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit of an air conditioner capable of quickly starting a compressor, an air conditioner, and a compressor starting method in the outdoor unit of the air conditioner. SOLUTION: The outdoor units 2a-2c of the air conditioner 1 comprise a plurality of fixed displacement compressors 27a-27c, 28a-28c, variable displacement compressors 22a-22c, and control portions 6a-6c. The plurality of fixed displacement compressors 27a-27c, 28a-28c compress a refrigerant with prescribed displacement. The variable displacement compressors 22a-22c can compress the refrigerant while changing the displacement. The control portions 6a-6c successively start the plurality of fixed displacement compressors 27a-27c, 28a-28c, and then adjust operating frequencies of the variable displacement compressors 22a-22c.
