The invention relates to a method for controlling the end of the discharge of a rechargeable battery, that comprises determining (F1) the transition frequency (F<SUB>HF</SUB>) of the battery and determining (F2, F3) a discharge end criterion of said battery according to said transition frequency (F<SUB>HF</SUB>). The discharge end criterion is representative, e.g., of a predetermined maximal value (Pmax) of the slope of the transition frequency (F<SUB>HF</SUB>). The transition frequency (F<SUB>HF</SUB>) can be determined (F1) periodically when using the battery, the discharge being interrupted (F4) by regulation means according to said transition frequency (F<SUB>HF</SUB>). |
