Disclosed is a method for evaluating a myocardial contour in nuclear medical image data of the myocardium. The change of pixel value of the aforementioned image data is evaluated in radial ball fashion from a point within the ventricle and a first ellipsoid approximating to the set of points of pixel value maximum in the various directions examined is found. A plurality of trace directions are set, based on this first ellipsoid and the myocardial contour is evaluated from the image data in the aforementioned respective plurality of trace directions. |
