PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately reduce the noise due to a dark current included in image data.SOLUTION: An image pickup device comprises an image sensor, a detection unit to detect the temperature of the image sensor, an arithmetic unit to calculate according to the temperature detected by the detection unit a dark current component included in pixel data generated by the image sensor, and a correction unit to correct the pixel data on the basis of the dark current component calculated by the arithmetic unit. The arithmetic unit sets the length of a second image pickup period in which a first integrated value derived by calculating dark current components corresponding to the temperature detected in a first image pickup period in which an image of the subject is picked up by the image sensor and a second integrated value derived by calculating dark current components corresponding to the temperature detected in a second image pickup period in which a dark image is picked up by the image sensor while being shielded from the light are made to correspond. The correction unit corrects first pixel data on the basis of the first pixel data which was generated corresponding to the first image pickup period and second pixel data which was generated corresponding to the second image pickup period whose length was set by the arithmetic unit. |
