PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrifying device with a superior reliability where a body to be electrified can be uniformly electrified and its service life is prolonged by forming a space in between the body to be electrified and a surface state electrode by a space forming means. SOLUTION: In this electrifying device, a space forming member as the space forming means to make the space between a surface of a photoreceptor drum and the surface state electrode to be a desired interval is provided in a position where the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1 and the surface of the surface state electrode 26 are faced. This space forming member is constituted from a projected part GC provided on the surface state electrode and an actual contact between the photoreceptor drum surface and the surface state electrode is prevented.
