<p>The method involves storing data related to a battery (2) as a function of time during certain utilization phases of a motor vehicle, where the data comprise temperature and state of charge of the battery, and identifier of the battery and/or supplier of the battery and/or location of the battery. The battery related data are transmitted to a memory of a central server (20) during a battery charging phase in a battery managing station (11), where the battery is connected to a charger (12) via a fieldbus i.e. controller area networkbus (13).
