The device has a pressure relief valve (14) opening a branch conduit (12) when a fuel pressure upstream of an equipment (10) is higher than a predetermined value. A duct is connected to fuel upstream and downstream circuits from an equipment. A water retention unit i.e. circular groove (28), prevents accumulation of the water in the vicinity of the pressure relief valve, resulting from settling of the water from the fuel in an ascending drain (8). The retention unit is arranged downstream from a junction of a downstream end of the branch conduit on an outlet side of the equipment.
