PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out navigation even when no GPS function exists in a mobile terminal. SOLUTION: A navigation system 1 includes the mobile terminal 3 and a server 4 for providing location information. An electric pole number display plate 2 is bonded to each electric pole to provide an electric pole number intrinsic to the electric pole. The mobile terminal 3 is input with the electric pole number in a current location provided by the electric pole number display plate 2, and a destination by an operation of a user, and displays a route in response thereto on a map. The server 4 for providing the location information receives the electric pole number in the current location and the destination, from the mobile terminal 3, and specifies the electric pole number in the destination. The electric pole numbers constituting the route from the current location to the destination are extracted from the electric pole number of the current location and the electric pole number in the destination, and map information reflected with the route is transmitted to the mobile terminal 3.
