<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of detecting changes in chromaticity of a developer to inform a user, and a control method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image forming part which forms an image corresponding to an input image signal, on a recording paper P by toner; a color sensor 9 for detecting the chromaticity of toner, an operation panel 12 for informing the user of changes in chromaticity of toner; and a control unit 10 which stores a chromaticity reference value with respect to toner and compares the chromaticity reference value with the chromaticity detected by the color sensor 9 and performs such control that the user is informed of changes on chromaticity of toner by the operation panel 12 in the case that a difference between the chromaticity and the chromaticity reference value is equal to a preliminarily determined value or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
