<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technique capable of preventing the occurrence of a harmful malodorous gas from a filter device for organic wastewater such as sewage by extremely simple equipment. <P>SOLUTION: In this method for filtering organic sewage, organic sewage and oxygen-containing microbubbles are allowed to flow in a filter medium packed bed from below to filter the organic sewage. A filter device for organic sewage has an oxygen containing microbubble producing device for producing oxygen containing microbubbles on the organic sewage inflow side above or below the filter medium packed bed.
