PLUG WITH BUILT-IN CONNECTOR

Provided is a plug with a built-in connector. The plug is adapted to be connected to a receptacle, and the built-in connector is adapted to be inserted in and connected to an adaptor within the receptacle. The plug with the built-in connector comprises: an inner housing which is located on the rear end side in the insertion direction of the connector, holds the connector, and has a plurality of protrusions formed on the outer peripheral surface of the inner housing; a spring which presses the inner housing in the insertion direction; and a cylindrical outer shell member which has a plurality of recesses formed in the inner peripheral surface thereof. The connector has a tapered shape on the front end side thereof in the insertion direction. The recesses are each formed so that the recess gradually narrows in the insertion direction and so that the bottom surface of the recess gradually approaches the center axis of the outer shell member. The spring presses the inner housing to fit the protrusions into the front end side of the recesses, thereby positioning the inner housing, and the protrusions can be tilted downward while being fitted in the recesses. The plug can be connected without difficulty to the receptacle even if the positional accuracy of the adapter within the receptacle is low.
