PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen generator which can be used with high energy efficiency without providing a heat exchanger outside.SOLUTION: There is provided a hydrogen generator which comprises a reforming catalyst layer 3 for generating a reformed gas by reforming reaction by supplying a raw material, a burner 6 for feeding at least one of the raw material and the reformed gas and combustion air, a combustion chamber 11 for burning a fuel and air fed from the burner 6 and discharging a combustion exhaust gas, a combustion air flow passage for supplying combustion air to the burner 6 and combustion exhaust gas channels for discharging the combustion exhaust gas from the combustion chamber 11 and heating the reforming catalyst layer 3, where a first channel 15 including a part facing an inlet of the reforming catalyst layer of the combustion exhaust gas channels is disposed adjacent to the combustion air flow passage so as to perform heat exchange between the combustion exhaust gas and the combustion air and disposed at the inlet side position from the outlet of the reforming catalyst layer 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
