The pole support 1 comprises a pole receiving clamp section 5 comprising first and second clamp parts 7, 9, each defining a part-cylindrical surface 11, 31, and clamping means 8, 10 for connecting the first and second clamp parts and increasing or decreasing the engagement between the part-cylindrical surfaces. The clamp parts may be retained together on one side of the clamp section by C-shaped brackets 25a, 25b, 25c on one part engaging L-shaped protrusions 45a, 45b, 45c on the other, and connected by the clamping means on the other side. The clamping means may comprise flanges 21, 41 on each clamp part with cooperating apertures 23, 43 through which an adjustable connector may extend. The support may comprise a housing for securing the support in the ground having first and second recesses for the clamp section and clamping means respectively. The first recess may have a cap 133 and the second recess may have a lockable cover 131. |
