CERAMIC COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING YTTRIUM NITRATE AND/OR YTTRIUM NITRATE COMPOUND(S) FOR SILICON CARBIDE CERAMICS, SILICON CARBIDE CERAMICS, AND ITS PREPARATION METHOD

PURPOSE: A composition for manufacturing silicon carbide ceramics, the silicon carbide ceramics, and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to obtain dense silicon carbide ceramics of low resistivity by using yttrium nitrate and/or yttrium nitrate compound as a sintering aid and a nitrogen source. CONSTITUTION: A composition for manufacturing silicon carbide ceramics includes 70.0-99.8 parts by weight of silicon carbide and 0.2-30 parts by weight of either yttrium nitrate or yttrium nitrate compound based on the total weight of the composition. The silicon carbide is β-silicon carbide. Silicon carbide ceramics are obtained by plasticizing the composition. The density of the silicon carbide ceramics is between 3.20 and 3.60g/cm^3, and the doped nitrogen amount of the silicon carbide ceramics is between 300-2000ppm. The volumetric resistivity of the silicon carbide ceramics is between 1x10^-4 and 9x10^-3Ωcm.
