The invention relates to a compressor system for supplying compressed air to a utility vehicle. Said compressor system comprises a compressor, a clutch, and a hydraulic pump and can be driven by means of a drive train. The compressor can be completely disconnected from a driving engine by means of the clutch. According to the invention, the drive train encompasses a geared drive mechanism which allows the hydraulic pump to be driven, and the clutch is arranged between the geared drive mechanism and the compressor. The invention further relates to a method for operating a compressor system.
