PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering control device and a vehicle steering control method that can prevent contact of a rack end and a steering rack during full steering.SOLUTION: A reaction force motor control portion 10 calculates a calculated value &thetas;r0 of a rotational steering command angle corresponding to a steering state of a steering wheel 32 by setting an upper limit value &thetas;r2, as an upper limit angle, in the vicinity of a rack end angle. The reaction force motor control portion 10, when the calculated value &thetas;r0 of the rotational steering command angle is in the vicinity of the upper limit value &thetas;r2 and surpasses a threshold value &thetas;rth smaller than the upper limit value &thetas;r2, and a driver is performing a steering increase operation, calculates a consequence of limiting the change rate of the calculated value &thetas;r0 of the rotational steering command angle as an output value &thetas;r1 of a rotational steering command angle. A steering motor control portion 4 drive-controls a rotational steering motor 8 to set the rotational steering angle &thetas;r of a rotational steering wheel to the output value &thetas;r1 of the rotational steering command angle. |
