PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receipt/journal printer which can be made compact by itself and can save papers necessary for printing a journal. SOLUTION: Separate gears 6 and 7 are set to be adjacent to each other to a rotary shaft 2 of a receipt platen roller 4 and to a rotary shaft 3 of a journal platen roller 5 respectively. A first oscillation gear 10 for transmitting a driving force of a transfer motor simultaneously to the gears 6 and 7, and a second oscillation gear 12 for transmitting the driving force of the transfer motor only to the gear 6 of the receipt platen roller 4 via an idle gear 11 are supported to an oscillating arm 13. The oscillating arm 13 is adapted to oscillate so that only either of the oscillation gears 10 and 12 can transmit the driving force of the transfer motor to the corresponding gear 6, 7 or 11 at the downstream side in a transmission direction in accordance with a rotation direction of the transfer motor.
