PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having a projecting function through which a user of printer can enjoy a projected image when the printer is not used or during the waiting time of printing operation without any sense of boredom. SOLUTION: The recorder comprises a light source 29 provided in a printer, and a section 17 for loading a translucent film 21 written with a figure being projected wherein the figure is projected with light from the light source 29 onto a plane in a room. The loading section 17 can be formed at least a part of a printer cover 3 and can be equipped with a transparent plate 15 for supporting the translucent film 21 or a lens function. The translucent film 21 may be loaded under curved state to the loading section 17.
