<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type video display device which achieves video display with improved visibility without imposing a load to a viewer when automatically adjusting projected video. <P>SOLUTION: The projector 100 includes light source units 10, 12, and 14 for emitting a plurality of color light beams and invisible light while switching them in a time division system; a light modulating unit 18 for modulating the plurality of color light beams based on an input video signal, and modulating the invisible light based on a test pattern used for recognizing a state of the projected video; a projection unit 22 for projecting the plurality of color light beams and the invisible light respectively modulated by the light modulating unit 18 on a projection face S while superposing them; an imaging unit 44 for selecting and imaging the test pattern in the projected video, and generating imaging data; and video adjusting units 32 and 38 for adjusting the projected video based on the imaging data generated by the imaging unit 44. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
