<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of brightness and tone by displaying comparatively simply stereoscopic two-dimensional images. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device (100) includes: a first display means (11) for displaying a first image on a first screen; an image transmission means (17) for transmitting display light composing the first image so as to display a real image of the first image on an image formation face positioned in a space opposite to the first screen as a floating image by being arranged in an optical path of the display light composing the first image; and a second display means (35) for displaying a second image on a second screen as a direct visual image so that the floating image can be seen from an observation position.
