PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning member which can reduce the grease additive to stick to the objects to be cleaned, a charging unit which has such a cleaning member and is stabilized in electrostatic charging, and a cartridge and an image forming device incorporating such a charging unit to form fine images. SOLUTION: This cleaning member has a main part containing foamed polymeric materials and turning following an object to be cleaned turning in contact, and hydrophobic particles of a hydrophobicity of 30% or larger contained at least in the surface of the above main part.
