OPTICAL ADD/DROP MULTIPLEXER

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for storing signal light in which channels having different optical frequency intervals are multiplexed and performing add/drop for the channel having a desired optical frequency interval.

SOLUTION: An optical add/drop multiplexer comprises: drop means including at least a wavelength selection switch which inputs signal light from an input port and sets the channel of a first optical frequency interval as a unit for wavelength selection, and wavelength separation means which is connected to an output port of the wavelength selection switch and sets the channel of a second optical frequency interval shorter than the first optical frequency interval as a unit for wavelength separation, and performing drop of the signal light; and add means for receiving signal light output from another output port of the wavelength selection switch and applying wavelength composition to the signal light and add signal light to output signal light subjected to the wavelength composition.
