Metal carbonates, subjected to decomposition, are selected from divalent cation carbonates: Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Ba, Sr, Pb, Zn, Cu, etc. Device for corium catching contains chamber located below reactor housing and intended for cooling fluid, in which melt receiving vertical pipes are installed. Pipes inner cavities are connected with chamber annular space, and upper ends are connected by their ends. Pipes inner cavities contain melted volume displacers, and at least part of inner cavities comprise metal carbonates.
