The present invention relates to a precursor product for the production of a fire resistant material, a kit comprising same and a method of preparing the fire resistant material and uses thereof in which the precursor product comprises at least two precursor components for producing the fire resistant material, and wherein at least one of the precursor components comprises a cooling agent and/or an insulating agent, a first of the at least two precursor components comprises waterglass and a second of the at least two precursor components comprises a waterglass hardener, and wherein the fire resistant material is produced by mixing the at least two precursor components and subsequent hardening.
