PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bobbin case changing device to be mounted on a sewing machine, capable of achieving a chuck in a small space and achieving sliding of a lower knob and moving of the chuck in one stroke. SOLUTION: A clamp pawl 31 is driven by a pawl driving means 32 to move toward a rotary hook 2 or apart from the rotary hook 2. In driving the clamp pawl 31 toward the rotary hook 2, the clamp pawl 31 is inserted into a through hole 34 in a lower knob 21 of the bobbin case 10. The lower knob 21 is made to slide by the clamp pawl 31, with the lock of a bobbin core pin 13 released, a bobbin 18 retained, and the bobbin case 10 is clamped to the clamp pawl 31 by the spring of the lower knob 21. When the clamp pawl 31 is separated from the rotary hook 2, the clamping bobbin case 10 is also separated from the rotary hook 2. In this way as mentioned above, the bobbin case 10 can be detached from the rotary hook 2 in one stroke.
