<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode light source, an illuminator using the same, a display unit and a traffic signal, in which the light-extraction efficiency and the heat radiation effect are high, and the mounting performance to the apparatus cabinet is excellent. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting diode light source has an insulating substrate in which an insertion hole is drilled, a metal plate in which a projected part fitted to the insertion hole of the insulating substrate is prepared, and a reflecting surface is formed in the side surface of the projected part, a light-emitting diode chip mounted in the insulating substrate, and a sealing member with translucency for sealing the light-emitting diode chip. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
