POWER TRANSMISSION COMPONENT USED IN VALVE OPENING/CLOSING MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission component used in a valve opening/closing mechanism capable of improving a caulking characteristic of a supporting pin with respect to a pair of supporting walls by a simple device. SOLUTION: The power transmission component (rocker arm) 1 used in the valve opening/closing mechanism 6 comprises a roller 4 supported between the pair of supporting walls 21 by the supporting pin 3. Through-holes 22 formed in the pair of supporting walls 21 have sheared surfaces 221 formed on the punching side and fractured surfaces 222 formed on the opposite side from the punching side. Caulking recesses 32 are formed to be recessed on axial end faces 311 of the supporting pin 3 in a state of both inserting ends 31 of the supporting pin 3 being inserted in each of the through-holes 22. Thereby, outer peripheral faces 312 of the insertion ends 31 are deformed along both of the sheared surfaces 221 and the fractured surfaces 222 in the through-holes 22 for caulking and fixing the supporting pin 3 to the supporting walls 21.
