PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve combustion efficiency by intensifying tumble flow in a cylinder. SOLUTION: In an intake device for an internal combustion engine including two intake ports 3, 3 and two intake valves 1, 1 per one cylinder, flows of intake air in respective intake ports 3, 3 are deflected by a pair of direction control valves 9, 9 arranged in a joining part 6 where two intake ports 3, 3 join each other so that intake air flowing into a cylinder 2 through respective intake ports 3, 3 is concentrated in the center portion of the cylinder 2 viewed from a cylinder 2 shaft direction. Thus, tumble flow in the cylinder can be enhanced. As a result, the disturbance of intake air flow in the cylinder 2 at the compression top dead center can be intensified to improve the combustion efficiency and the fuel consumption by stabilizing combustion.
