PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle bed for knitting machines to fix a pair of needles having needles with different foot positions. SOLUTION: The needle bed (2) for knitting machines has a guide groove, especially divided in a knitting lock region, therefore, each needle is solely guided in lateral directions in its foot region. Preferably, the needle bed is designed to be divided and, in case when it is divided, the divided needle beds are adjacent to each other at junctions extending toward the direction crossing to every guide groove. In that case, divided junctions are arranged between lock passages (15 and 16, 16 and 17, 17 and 18, and 18 and 19). The guide strips of each of base main bodies (5, 6, 7) are arranged to be mutually shifted in one needle unit.
