<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that allows, even under a bright or dark ambient environment, image display to be recognized in accordance with the environment, or provide a liquid crystal display device capable of image display either with a reflection mode using external light as an illumination light source or with a transmission mode using a backlight. <P>SOLUTION: A region (reflection region) for performing display by reflecting incident light via a liquid crystal layer, and a region (transmission region) for performing display by transmitting light from a backlight are provided to allow switching between the transmission mode and the reflection mode. For display of a full-color image, a pixel portion includes at least a first region and a second region, plural light rays with different color phases are sequentially supplied to the first region in accordance with a first rotation schedule and plural light rays with different color phases are sequentially supplied to the second region in accordance with a second rotation schedule different from the first rotation schedule. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
