<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit capable of improving luminance, and a projector comprising the light source unit. <P>SOLUTION: A light source unit 60 comprises: a fluorescent plate having a fluorescent emission part and a diffuse transmission part; a first light source 71 for emitting light of a wavelength band that can excite a fluorescent body; a second light source 121 for emitting light of a wavelength band different from that of fluorescent light and of the light emitted from the first light source 71; a light guiding optical system for guiding light of a wavelength band of each color emitted from the fluorescent plate to a predetermined surface; and light source control means for individually controlling the emission of the first light source 71 and of the second light source 121. The fluorescent plate is arranged on light paths from the first light source 71 and from the second light source 121. The light source unit 60 is configured so that a position on the fluorescent plate hit by the light from the first light source 71 differs from that hit by the light from the second light source 121. The light source control means controls the first light source 71 and the second light source 121 to emit light simultaneously or separately so that the light source unit 60 emits synthetic light or monochromatic light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
