PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinyl alcohol resin film material capable of obtaining a polarizing film that can adhere, with high adhesiveness, to an object to be bonded, and capable of preventing the polarizing film from swelling under high humidity environment.SOLUTION: A polyvinyl alcohol resin film material comprises a plurality of polyvinyl alcohols having different saponification degrees and further contains: a first polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification degree of 97 mol% or more; and a second polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification degree of lower than 97 mol%. In the polyvinyl alcohol resin film material, an average saponification degree of the whole polyvinyl alcohol is larger than 93 mol%.
